bloomsday 2011

The Lilac Bloomsday Run is a 12 kilometer / 7.46 mile foot run held in Spokane, WA. This year marks the 35th annual Lilac Bloomsday Run, held on the first Sunday in May. Making the date this year May 1st, 2011. As the largest foot race in the world this is pretty big stuff for Spokane, WA. I know most people don’t have a clue about Spokane since we are over shadowed by the better known city, Seattle, in the State of Washington. But if you are an athlete… who likes long distance running and Iron Man Triathlons than you know us well. Since a mere 30 miles east of Spokane in Coeur d’Alene, ID the Ford Iron Man Coeur d’Alene Triathlon is held. Next one scheduled for June 26, 2011. (more…)

1st Night Spokane 10th Anniversary

This is the 10th Anniversary of First Night Spokane. For those of you in the Spokane area this is one of the biggest events of the year, as you may already know.

A night packed with arts and entertainment galore. More entertainment can be seen on this night in downtown Spokane than on any other night. It would take you a week or more to see all that you can in one night at First Night Spokane New Year’s Eve Winter Festival. See ice carving, Irish dancing, listen to African drumming and rock and roll. Watch the Snowboard Rail Jam stunts and warm up by the bonfire or dancing at the dance party. Be part of the Resolution Run, where you write out your resolution and burn it at the end of your run in a ceremonial bonfire.

There is so much to entertain you or participate in there is noway for this not to be a Fabulous Night that ends with a spectacular Fireworks show.

Check out the First Night Spokane website for all the details.
